This project was developed as part of a university brief and submitted to the 2023 D&AD New Blood Awards. As an existing fan of giffgaff and their ethical, community-driven approach, I was especially excited to work on a campaign that celebrates their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
The brief asked participants to create engaging Instagram Story assets and Out Of Home (OOH) activations to announce giffgaff’s milestone of becoming a certified B Corp.
"giffgaff is a mobile network who are about to become a B Corp. They want Instagram story assets and Out Of Home (OOH) Activations to let people know about this achievement."
After researching both giffgaff and the values of B Corp certification, I developed a concept that visually tells the story of giffgaff’s journey toward becoming a B Corp. I explored several narrative and visual approaches before choosing to map out their progress using a series of isometric flat illustrations.
These illustrations were designed to be flexible and adaptable across multiple platforms—looping Instagram Stories and Reels, static and animated billboards, as well as longer-format OOH activations such as escalator panels or bus wraps.
"I thought a lot about the different ways I could do this and settled on mapping out their journey and the steps they've taken to get them to where they are today with the use of isometric flat illustrations."
This project not only allowed me to engage with a brand I admire, but also to explore storytelling through motion and modular design—highlighting how purpose-driven branding can be both engaging and impactful.
